Build in the 1910s and extended in 1920s this house in Trearddur Bay needed a complete overhaul after generations in the same family. With the very specific location and climate in mind there was a lot to consider in terms of materials and finishes. We used natural breathable paint to stave off future damp, brass that weathers beautifully in salty environments, and other touches that give a nod to the seaside without being gimmicky. All of the downstairs areas have been made accessible for an electric wheelchair, and hoists have been fitted in some areas, but these don’t distract from what is essentially a multi-generational family home that’s now ready for the same family to enjoy for generations to come.
